St. Michielsbrug

Yesterday I visited the city of Gent in Belgium. I have never visited a city in Belgium before and that is weird actually, because it is so close by. Gent for instance is only a 2 hour drive from Zoetermeer in the Netherlands. I thought that cities in Belgium would be grey, old and boring. Gent is old and sometimes the old buildings do look kind of grey, but hey they are very old. Some of the cathedrals are more than 500 years old! But Gent is absolutely not boring.

Below we walk on the St.Michielsbrug (St. Michiels bridge) and you have a wonderful view. This bridge crosses the river Leie

  1. Gent looks far from boring, so much detail, to me it looks like a Disneyland on steroids! I'd love to visit.

  3. My first thought was the same...Main Street Disneyland. No cars allowed on that street? Nice.

  8. Belgische stadjes zijn erg oud en erg mooi. Gent is prachtig, heb er ook eens een boottocht gemaakt, weer heel anders dan in Amsterdam, in een open boot met parapluus achterin voor als het gaat regenen.
