at the High Line

It's Monday again and that means: {Monday Mural}

Mural by JR at the High Line
This mural can be seen from the High Line in New York City at West 29th Street. As  you can see, it's huge. This mural is not painted on the wall, but it made out of printed panels that are pasted against the wall. It took the artist JR and his team two days to put it all up. The mural is part of a project called the Inside Out Project; a collaboration between the artist and people from around the globe. The name of the boy you see is Brandon Many Ribs and he is one of the many faces for the Inside Out Project that are on display here in NYC.
More info on the project and photos of the installation can be found here.

  4. I wouldn't want to live across the way and open up my window shade each day having that face greeting me.

  5. I photographed the 'DJ Two Bears' mural down on Houston (or nearby) the last time I was in NYC. I'm very impressed by JRs vision.

  7. what an intriguing image - I recall reading a blog about the "High Line" a few years ago when I think the walk was still being created - not that I've ever been to New York

  10. Incredible image. The amount of work that went into mounting this is equally incredible. But paper also means it will disintegrate it a short amount of time. So much work for something so ephemeral. An incredible lack of ego involved in paste-ups, even gigantic ones. Thanks for sharing this and contributing to Monday Mural.

  11. I love this face!!! It's so...expressive and open to interpretation to mean whatever you want it to mean. What a grand mural. You find the most interesting subjects to photograph. Happy Tuesday to you Nellies.
