Waiting for a table

Three weeks ago already I made reservations for a table at the Red Rooster in Harlem for tonight. The Red Rooster was recently voted 'best new neighborhood joint 2012' so I thought "let's eat there sometime". It's the 2nd time here in New York that I had to made reservations for dinner, usually you just go wherever you like and you are seated almost right away. Anyways, that is not the case at the Red Rooster, but since they had great reviews it was worth a shot. Dinner was de-li-cious, they have mostly southern comfort food. (chicken, mashed potatoes, corn bread, that kind of stuff) And they have a great selection of cocktails, of which I had two.

I made the picture below while we were waiting for our table. My attention was drawn to the nice, sturdy bar stools, but when I was framing the photo I added those cute behinds to the photo as well :-)

  1. Nellies, this made me chuckle so much. But first, of course it's a wonderful shot! Red Rooster over here is a take-a-way dive/joint and you sure don't book or get cocktails there - in fact one avoids the place if possible! I'll pass on the BE-hinds but oh my I'd love those retro bar stools at my place. ;)

    1. It's funny that you mention it Biebkriebels, the two on the left are Dutch people, haha. I heard them talking, that's how I know. But NY-ers do not really dress up for dinner, unless it's a really fancy restaurant. I guess it's because a lot of NYers are eating out almost every day.

  3. Dat ziet er gezellig uit Nellie. Die hitte is niet leuk als je geen airco hebt. Het is hier in huis 28 graden en airco hebben we ook niet. Is meestal niet nodig in dit land.
    Fijn weekend!
